Age, weight loss and childbirth can all have an effect on your breasts, but women (and men,) are simply, naturally born with chests of varying shapes and sizes. One benefit of breast uplift surgery is that it can help you to achieve or regain body confidence.
If you lack natural breast tissue, the procedure can be combined with breast augmentation surgery to give you fuller as well as perkier breasts.
The surgery works by making an incision on each breast, lifting and stitching the skin into its new position, removing excess skin and reshaping the breast tissue beneath to make the results as long-lasting as possible. The nipples are also repositioned to their ideal location.
There are different ways to perform a breast uplift with different patterns of scarring – around the nipple, with a scar running downwards (‘lollipop scar’) or with a scar in the breast crease too (‘anchor scar’). I will discuss this with you during your consultation and advise which would be best for your body.
Before considering undergoing cosmetic surgery it is vital to meet with and form a rapport with your surgeon, and to ensure that your surgeon will personally review you afterwards. I like to meet twice before surgery so you can ask all the questions you’ve thought of between meetings, and schedule regular routine postoperative checks to make sure your ultimate outcome is as good as it can be.
